For the history buff, there's plenty of other historic sites, a number of green spaces of nature walks and scenic viewing and of course, visitors may expect great local eateries and bars to enjoy. Onsite, travelers may look forward to historic sightseeing. Whether they are casting, spinning or flying fish, chances of getting a bite are good! The 15-acre Cherokee Lake is where fishermen will find a variety fish including crappie, catfish, striped bass, sauger, walleye, smallmouth bass, bluegill and largemouth bass. The Grounds offer picnic tables, grills, fire rings, laundry facility and WiFi! There are separate showers and restrooms onsite, a water splash pad, nature trails and a campground office complete with sundries and firewood for purchase. The Texas State Railroad Campground is located in the beautiful East Texas town of Rusk and is a great spot for a fun southern escape! We offer campsites with water only, water and electricity or full hookups with 50-amp service and sewer. Once you get here we know you're going to treasure your stay at Jackson Hill. There is even a lending library with real books for the readers to hold and read like the good old days, of course, new-fangled technology is welcome with WiFi access in the lodge. Big Sam is also home to giant Alligator Gar and Buffalo fish for the bow fishing trip of a lifetime. We can help arrange a great fishing guide to take you to the hot spots. Large-mouth Bass is king here along with giant slab crappies, Catfish and Bream. Now, if you came for a little more excitement than that how about catching the fish of a lifetime?
